I’m sure you’ve all heard by now my No. 2 Oklahoma State Cowboys lost last night to Iowa State…yes, you read right. Iowa State. The world of college football is always full of surprises, isn’t it? After the devastating losses of two basketball coaches Thursday night, Friday was just not a good day for Oklahoma State sports.
Unfortunately, I was at work until 10 p.m. so I didn’t see most of the game. When I called my boyfriend to check the score, I was shocked to hear we were only up by one touchdown with 10 minutes to go. I’m no college football buff (I save that for the boyfriend), but all I’d heard about Iowa State was that it was terrible. Any loss would be painful after a record 10-0 season, but for me, I just couldn’t believe we lost it all to an unranked, (supposedly) not-very-good team.
I won’t comment on much more because I know about as much about sports as you would expect a 21-year-old college girl to know. 🙂 All in all, I still love my Cowboys, of course. They’ve had an amazing record-breaking season and it’s not over yet. We had a not-so-good week two weeks ago against Kansas State, a great week last week at Texas Tech then this week…enough has been said about that. Hopefully we can continue the pattern and rest up for the next couple weeks and come out strong against OU for Bedlam! I can’t wait.
I know all our fans are heartbroken and disappointed that we lost last night, but I’m so proud to be a part of a community that supports its team no matter what. I’ve seen disappointed tweets and Facebook statuses (and a few trash-talking from another certain school in the state), but most that I’ve seen have been positive in one way or another. It’s been a great year so far for the Cowboys and after last night, it can only get better, right?
